Through the use of innovative technology, data, and precision analytics, Clarapath is paving the way for a new era of laboratory medicine.

Role Summary
:

The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, and integration of electrical systems for Clarapath’s advanced electro-mechanical medical device, Section Star. This position is essential for supporting PCB design, wiring schematics, power systems, and embedded hardware components, while ensuring seamless integration with mechanical and software subsystems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in hardware electrical design and a working knowledge of software development for embedded systems.

We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and views electrical engineering as a critical driver of innovation in medical device development.

Responsibilities
:

  • Design and develop system-level electrical schematics, including electrical isolation strategies, detailed PCB layouts, wiring harnesses, and power distribution networks for Section Star
  • Design precision electromechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools to support integration with hardware systems
  • Build and assemble cable harnesses and prototype analog and digital circuits, primarily for sensor integration and device control
  • Develop low-level device control software, including experience programming in C++ and working with FPGA-based systems for embedded control and signal processing
  • Model and develop complex electrical systems throughout the device, such as stepper and DC motor control, AC power systems, low-voltage data lines, and high-sensitivity analog and digital circuits
  • Support prototyping, unit, and system-level testing of electrical hardware, including building test fixtures instrumented with data acquisition system
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues throughout development and manufacturing phases to ensure device reliability and manufacturability
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments (ex: FMEA), and create documentation such as schematics, wire harness drawings, PCB files, and component specifications to support FDA regulatory processes
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of test procedures, validation protocols, and compliance documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance system performance and streamline manufacturing
