Position: Business Intel Engineer I, Ring/Blink Customer Service Engineering Services

Role Summary

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Customer Service Engineering Services team at Ring & Blink. This role focuses on delivering reliable reporting and analytics today, while gaining exposure to and contributing toward the team’s evolution into next‑generation analytics and data consumption patterns beyond traditional static dashboards.

You will build and maintain analytics solutions using tools such as Tableau and Amazon Quick Sight, while also partnering with senior BI and Data Engineers to support emerging approaches to analytics, automation, and AI‑enabled insights as the data platform matures. This role is execution‑focused, with strong opportunities for learning, growth, and increasing ownership over time.

Role Context

The team is migrating customer support data to a new, dedicated Redshift cluster as part of a broader effort to establish full ownership of our data platform. Core data designs and migration plans are already defined. This role will support migration execution and data validation as needed, while maintaining a primary focus on ongoing reporting, analytics delivery, and documentation before, during, and after the migration.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and enhance analytics solutions, including dashboards and reports using Tableau, Quick Sight, and other reporting or analytics interfaces, to support operational and business decision‑making.
  • Partner with senior BI Engineers to translate reporting requirements into clear, accurate, and maintainable analytics outputs.
  • Support the data migration effort by executing defined migration or backfill tasks, validating migrated data, and helping ensure reporting continuity during the transition to the new Redshift cluster.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and consistency between source systems and the new data platform.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries to support reporting, ad‑hoc analysis, migration validation, and data quality checks.
  • Partner with senior BI and Data Engineers to support and learn emerging analytics patterns, such as automated insights, AI‑assisted analysis, or alternative data consumption experiences, as the team evolves beyond static reporting.
  • Create and maintain clear, structured documentation for datasets, reports, migration steps, validation results, and known data caveats.
  • Help identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, or reporting gaps and elevate findings with clear context and proposed next steps.
  • Follow established data governance, security, and access guidelines when handling customer support data.
  • Support post‑migration reporting updates, including updating dashboards, queries, and data sources to align with the new platform.
