Sheet Metal Technician; Metal Cutting

Responsibilities

• Prepare, run, setup, and operate the Shear Machine
• Prepare, shear, issue material electronically, and submit RFPO if needed
• Manage sheet metal material inventory, accurately issuing material to support Waterjet, Punch Press, and Laser Machines
• Receive incoming material and scan it to the designated location
• Responsible for overall area safety, delivery targets, and creative ways to increase product reliability, efficiency, and reduce overall cost
• Understand blueprint reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 3+ years of experience working with precision equipment (scales, calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc.)
• 1+ years of experience with the setup and operation of a JMT Shear Machine or any shear brand machine

• Ability to meet daily/weekly production goals with critical time schedules
• Ability to read blueprints and complete basic math
• Ability to run and operate a shear machine
• Experience in material handling and production coordination is essential
• Ability to manage the sheet metal material inventory (receiving, RFPO submission, shear, issuing materials)
• Experience operating Waterjet, Punch Press, and Laser Machines

• Must be able to work the following shifts:
  Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
• Must be able to stand for long periods, climb ladders, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, and stretch as generally required for this position
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
