General Responsibilities

The HVAC Technician is responsible for diagnosis, installation, repairs and maintenance for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in a commercial and industrial building environment. This role requires an individual with extensive field experience and a solid understanding of HVAC systems, adhering to mechanical codes, and safety standards.

Schedule

Monday – Friday: 5 AM – 1:30 PM

Pay Rate

$40 – $50 per hour

Essential Functions
  • Inspections, installation, adjustments, repairs and maintenance on HVAC systems including boilers, fan coil units, air handlers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, VAV boxes, rooftop units, pneumatic systems, fan coil units, lab ventilation, etc.
  • Refrigeration inspections, adjustments, appliance repairs and maintenance.
  • Use of HVAC automated management systems for monitoring.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Document work orders and maintenance activities in the ticketing system.
  • Adhere to client’s safety regulations, legal restrictions, and building codes.
  • Fire safety system inspection, repair and maintenance.
  • Perform End‑of‑Shift Inspections (EOS) following company guidelines, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met at the end of each shift.
  • Assist in emergencies, as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
  • While not mandatory, proficiency in English is highly recommended to perform the responsibilities of this role effectively. We are committed to creating an inclusive work environment that values diversity.
  • Open availability:
    Overtime work and schedule adjustments may be needed/necessary. Holiday work may also be required.
Physical Demands
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, and lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular use of hands to handle tools and operate equipment; may work in cramped spaces or at heights.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Good hygiene skills required.

Other Requirements
  • Must complete pre‑employment background check (if applicable).
  • Must complete pre‑employment drug screen (if applicable).
  • Must provide proof of work authorization and complete an I9 and E‑Verify process.
Work Environment

This role operates in a commercial building setting and requires regular use of hand tools, power tools, and ladders. The technician will work in a variety of settings, including utility rooms, rooftops, and office spaces, and may be exposed to electrical hazards and other safety risks.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Required Education And Experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience is preferred.
  • Journeyman/Apprentice level candidates are preferred.
  • OSHA safety certifications are preferred.
  • EPA 608 certification.
