Lead Full Stack Developer

Clarapath is a medical robotics company based in Westchester County, NY. Our mission is to transform and modernize laboratory workflows with the goal of improving patient care, decreasing costs, and enhancing the quality and consistency of laboratory processes. Section Star by Clarapath is a ground-breaking electro-mechanical system designed to elevate and automate the workflow in histology laboratories and provide pathologists with the tissue samples they need to make the most accurate diagnoses.

Role Summary
:

The Lead Full Stack Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for Section Star, a mechatronic device. This role is multi-disciplinary with responsibility for ensuring all front-end and back-end components of our applications are scalable, robust, and user-friendly. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience optimizing web development frameworks, databases and cloud services. We are looking for a team player who views medical device development as a competitive advantage.

• Architect and build the user interface to the device
• Implement modern web UI using latest technology and best practices
• Create formal documentation for a FDA process
• Develop and execute unit and system tests of prototype designs
• Mentor junior developers, provide guidance, and help resolve technical challenges
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality results

Qualifications
:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree a plus
• 6+ years of professional experience in full stack development
• Strong back-end development skills with experience in Node.js, Python, Ruby, Java, or similar languages
• Experience with databases:
  MySQL, Postgre
  
  SQL, Mongo
  
  DB, or similar
• Familiarity with Graph QL and RESTful API design and implementation
• Knowledge of version control systems (ex: Git)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience with microservices architecture, a plus
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA, Trello), a plus
• Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio of personal projects, a plus
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks, a plus
• Prior experience integrating and interfacing with Clinical Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or similar healthcare information systems, a plus
• Prior experience developing vision systems for process and quality control applications, a plus
• Prior experience working on data security and ensuring compliance with HIPAA requirements, a plus
