Job Description

$35–$50/hour | New Jersey | Regional Travel

Pfister Energy is seeking an experienced Solar Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial solar PV systems throughout New Jersey and surrounding areas. We're looking for a skilled electrical professional with hands-on solar maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and inverter repair experience who can work independently to keep solar systems operating safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial rooftop, carport, and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair inverters, combiner boxes, switch gear, AC/DC wiring, and monitoring systems.
• Perform electrical testing using multimeters, insulation testers, thermal imaging, and IV curve tracers.
• Respond to service calls, identify equipment failures, and complete repairs to restore system performance.
• Read electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
• Follow NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and lockout/tagout safety procedures.
• Document inspections, repairs, and service reports while communicating with customers and internal teams.

Who We're Looking For

• 3+ years of electrical experience, including 2+ years working with solar PV installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
• New Jersey Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent, or documented solar PV electrical experience with willingness to meet applicable licensing requirements.
• Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, grid-tied solar PV, inverters, transformers, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience reading electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Ability to independently diagnose electrical faults and perform safe, effective repairs.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and willingness to travel throughout NJ and neighboring areas.
• Ability to work outdoors, on rooftops, at heights, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Preferred: OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, NABCEP certification, or experience with SCADA and solar monitoring systems.
