The Relief Coroner investigates sudden and unexpected deaths in the Hay River area, attending scenes, completes body removal, conducting external examinations, oversees the collection of toxicological samples, and coordinating with partners such as the RCMP, health authorities, and funeral homes. The role prepares investigative reports and ensures the respectful handling of remains and evidence. Work is performed under the direction of the Deputy Chief Coroner and must follow the Coroners Act and related legislation.
This position requires strong judgment, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to respond to calls as needed.

Relief Worker
This job opening is for a Relief position where there are no established hours of work on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and may be required to report to work on an as and when required basis for facilities where services operate on a daily basis throughout the entire year.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $47.40 per hour to $56.61per hour (approximately $92,430 - $110,390) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $5,662
