What a typical day looks like

You arrive, review the work order, and stage tools and materials. You dial in the setup, load the program, verify the first article against the blueprint, and then keep a sharp eye on the run. Throughout the shift, you collaborate with teammates, care for the equipment, and document everything you produce.

Core responsibilities

Configure and operate CNC equipment to manufacture precision parts per specifications.

Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to plan each job.

Oversee machining cycles and fine-tune offsets, feeds, and speeds to hold tolerances.

Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues on CNC machines.

Follow all safety procedures and keep a clean, orderly work area.

Partner with team members to streamline processes and improve throughput.

Accurately record production metrics, inspection results, and job documentation.

What you bring

High school diploma or GED; machining trade school or certification preferred.

Hands-on experience as a CNC operator or machinist.

Solid knowledge of CNC machinery and fundamentals of programming (G/M codes).Ability to read and apply technical drawings and blueprints.

Proficiency with metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Exceptional attention to detail and strong troubleshooting skills.
