Prospero Teaching is looking for experienced Cover Supervisors to work on a flexible basis across secondary schools in Hillingdon, starting from September 2026.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged, focused and well behaved throughout the lesson.

Key responsibilities include:

Supervising lessons across a range of subjects
Managing classroom behaviour confidently and effectively
Ensuring students complete the work set by the class teacher
Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
Providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates with:

Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor or in a similar secondary school role
Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
Confidence working with secondary-aged students
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A professional, reliable and flexible approach
A genuine commitment to supporting students' learning and development
