Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Opportunity You'll play a vital role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably. Working alongside both the Engineering and Operations teams, you'll help minimise downtime, improve plant performance and contribute to ongoing engineering projects. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, technical challenges and making a real impact.
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production equipment. Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime. Diagnose and repair mechanical faults. Replace and maintain mechanical components. Record maintenance activities using internal systems. Coordinate external engineering contractors when required. Support continuous improvement and engineering projects. Maintain spare parts and engineering records. Work closely with production teams to maximise operational efficiency.
Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety and permit-to-work procedures. Participate in an on-call rota and provide engineering support when required. Attend daily operations meetings and contribute to performance improvements. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is practical, solutions-focused and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll ideally have:
Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent). At least 2 years' experience within an engineering or maintenance role. Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills. Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment. Good organisational and time management skills. A positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Competent Microsoft Office skills.
Knowledge of TS16949, ISO 14001 and IOSH/NEBOSH would be advantageous. Why Apply? Join a successful and growing manufacturing business. Work with modern production equipment and varied engineering challenges. Be part of a supportive, experienced engineering team. Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development. Make a genuine impact on production performance and continuous improvement. Working Environment The role includes working within a manufacturing facility and requires compliance with PPE, food safety and Health & Safety standards.
You'll also participate in an on-call rota, and the position may involve working at height or within confined spaces following appropriate training and safe systems of work. If you're an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge in a business where your skills are valued, we'd love to hear from you.
