About the Role
A well-established MRO and manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Machine Grinder to support workshop activities by carrying out high-precision grinding operations on aircraft components. The role involves working to fine tolerances using cylindrical and surface grinding machines, ensuring full compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities
⦁ Operate a range of grinding machines to fine tolerances.
⦁ Work independently with minimal supervision.
⦁ Read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
⦁ Carry out internal and external grinding using cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
⦁ Maintain awareness of responsibilities under environmental procedures.
⦁ Maintain an up-to-date Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
⦁ Provide training or knowledge transfer to colleagues within a defined scope, subject to experience and qualifications.
⦁ Ensure all duties are completed in accordance with health & safety, environmental regulations, and company procedures.

Education & Qualifications
⦁ Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
⦁ Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.

Experience & Technical Knowledge
⦁ Proven experience operating internal and external grinding machines.

⦁ Experience with cylindrical and surface grinding machines is essential.
⦁ Aerospace experience desirable but not essential.
⦁ Knowledge of CNC grinding machines is advantageous.

Working Conditions
⦁ No direct reports.
⦁ Flexibility required, including occasional overtime and weekend working.
⦁ Exposure to greases, oils, and industrial materials.
⦁ Training provided for the use of overhead cranes.
⦁ Manual handling forms part of the role.
⦁ Regular use of hand tools, power tools, and complex machinery.

Additional Requirements
⦁ Unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
⦁ Completion of mandatory training as required.
