Position Details – Escrow OfficerThe Escrow Officer is a key position that is responsible for facilitating the hold and transfer of funds for buyers, sellers and lender for escrow closings; and maintaining records and accounts. Specific job responsibilities include:
- Accurately manages the closing of residential real estate transactions.
- Provides mortgage holders with required tax documentation and escrow documents for filing tax returns.
- Reviews regulatory documents dealing with escrow issues and ensures completeness and legal compliance.
- Accurately manages and calculates all financial matters surrounding each closing transaction.
- Protects customers’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Can close a minimum of 40 files per month.
- Ensure all payoffs are processed within 1 business day as well as ensure all recordings have been done, which would include the eRecording of said documents and either disburse file or organize and send file to the disbursement center same day or the following morning after closing.
- Markets to customers, which may include attending customer events both during and outside normal working hours.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel on occasion as needed.
- The ability to obtain a State of Kansas Title Insurance License is required within your first 6 months of employment – the company will provide assistance if needed.
- 1-3 years of previous experience in title insurance, lending, or real estate is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
- Strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail.
- Dependability, strong work ethic and punctuality are a must.
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast paced environment.
