Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.

Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.

Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.

Provide customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.

Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to meet their needs.

Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.

Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.

Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.

Package, label, and inventory ingredients and products.

Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate actions.

Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.

Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.

Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.

Understand store layout and locate products for customers.

Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.

Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.

Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.

Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, keeping logs.

Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.

Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.

Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.

Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.

Report customer or employee accidents.

Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.

Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.

Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Customer Service skills
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of basic math
Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment
