Job Overview
Match Support Specialist (MSS) builds relationships with program participants to ensure quality support for matches. MSS provides coaching, encouragement, and advice via phone, email, and in person. Relationship building is at the heart of the role.

Salary Range: $38,000 - $40,000/year

- Conduct match meetings, contacts, supervision, and closures within the organizational guidelines.
- Assess match relationships focusing on child safety, privacy, and positive youth development. Identify, address, and resolve real problems early.
- Maintain organized match files in the agency database and provide weekly and monthly reports to supervisor.
- Participate in program activities, represent KSBBBS at meetings and events, and make timely referrals to appropriate agencies.
- Perform home visits, interview youth and parents/guardians, complete needs assessments and intakes on Little Brother/Little Sister applicants.
- Screen applicants for Bigs; screen volunteers with background checks; interview potential Bigs; compile interview information; conduct file showings and consolidate contacts.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Valid driver’s license required. Auto insurance and employee listed as vehicle operator.
- Exceptional interpersonal relations and strong verbal and written skills.
- Previous customer service experience preferred; experience with populations facing adversity a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and database programs/Salesforce preferred.
- Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Fluency in Spanish a plus.
- Patience and confident calming presence.
- Ability to forge trusted relationships with adults of all backgrounds.
- Attentiveness, clear communication, and the ability to read beyond spoken word.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and follow up promptly.
- Goal oriented with desire to grow professionally.
- Receptive to direction, feedback, and guidance.
