We are seeking a results-oriented, deadline-driven individual with strong organizational skills with attention to detail to join our team. The ideal candidate would be responsible for reviewing and processing purchase order requirements generated from our software in a timely manner and supporting our Estimating department by preparing and submitting quotes to our suppliers. This person will also be working as a vital link between our prime customers and our supply base to improve delivery performance by tracking, validating, expediting, and reporting real time part delivery status.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Efficient preparation and submission of tenders/quotations to suppliers.
  • Analyzing blueprint drawings, bills of materials and other project documentation to estimate costs.
  • Generating POs for raw materials and component parts.
  • Identification and assessment of new vendors.
  • Expediting supplier deliveries and negotiating with suppliers to achieve improvement on lead times.
  • Working proactively to resolve any supply issues with the overall objective of improving OTIF (On-Time In-Full)
  • Negotiating pricing and other terms with suppliers to improve cost base and deliver savings
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing data within the system ensuring full traceability.
Qualifications/Essential Criteria:
  • Ability to summarize and effectively communicate complex information.
  • High degree of competence in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point).
  • Excellent numerical skills, problem-solving abilities, and persuasion skills.
  • Good time management with the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Aptitude for creative and innovative thinking.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawing preferred.
  • 2–3-year experience in a Purchasing or Buyer role within the engineering/manufacturing sector required.
  • Experience working in a time-critical manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Experience working with MIL-SPECS
Job Type

Full-time, Mon.

- Thurs., 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. & Fri. 7:30 – 11:30 a.m./OT Sat as needed.
