ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF KINESIOLOGY (BIOMECHANICS)
We are a vibrant department serving 400 majors and non-majors through lecture and physical activity classes in the General Education Program. We value student-centered teaching, community service, and scholarly activity, and we maintain a diverse student body.
We employ 13 tenure-track/tenured faculty, nine instructors, two laboratory technicians, two advisors, and two administrative support staff. Our facilities include the Physical Education Building with teaching and research laboratories for exercise physiology, biomechanics, exercise testing and prescription, motor learning/sport psychology, a modern Fitness Center, exercise studios, and related offices. We pursue a cross-disciplinary life-sciences, cognitive-behavioral sciences, and humanities approach to kinesiology, and offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees with a Physical Education Single Subject waiver option.
ResponsibilitiesPlease note that teaching assignments may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online. CSU East Bay policy expects tenure-track faculty to perform duties within the state of California.
Rank and SalaryRank: Assistant Professor. Salary depends on education and experience. Subject to budgetary authorization. Anticipated salary: $7,219 to $7,481 monthly; ($86,628 to $89,772 annually).
Date of Appointment: Fall Semester, 2026.
