the chabot-las positas community college district is seeking an instructor, graphic design at chabot college in hayward, ca. This position reports directly to the division dean.

• expert level knowledge and mastery of uiux and graphic design practices focused on industry standards and working with clients;
• ability to teach uiux and graphic design classes ranging from beginning to advanced;
• ability to administer and coordinate a successful uiux and graphic design program including student advising, student design expo and accreditation standards;
• ability to recruit industry professionals for advisory board and as guest lecturers;
• ability to leverage industry contacts to create a student internship pipeline;
• ability to design curriculum, programs, certificates, and degrees in uiux and graphic design;
• ability to administer and manage a graphic design computer lab and equipment check-out;
• ability to collegially and cooperatively work and interface with faculty, staff, students, and administrators in a shared-governance organization;
• knowledge of teaching methods appropriate to the college and/or adult level;
• ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing;
• ability to teach late afternoons, evenings, saturdays and/or online in support of program needs and class scheduling as assigned by school administration;
• ability to recruit, retain and advise/mentor students.
