Since our founding in 1895 in Marin County as an orphanage – and through subsequent years as Sunny Hills Services – Side by Side has been at the forefront of best practices in child welfare, working with the most vulnerable youth in our community. Today, Side by Side operates in four counties – Marin, Alameda, Sonoma, and Napa – across the Bay Area, reaching nearly 2,000 children, young adults, and family members per year with much-needed services related to behavioral and mental health, early intervention in schools, LGBTQIA+ support, transitional housing for foster youth, and special education.

COMPENSATION

This position has a salary range of $77,250 to $105,286 depending on years of clinical experience and bilingual language skills.

This position will consider applicants who have submitted their registration information to the Board of Behavioral Sciences but have not yet received their BBS registration number by date of hire.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Real Alternatives offers a continuum of transitional housing opportunities for current and former foster youth and/or those on probation ages 18 to 24. We provide an apartment for youth to call home and often support especially vulnerable populations, including commercially sexually exploited youth, parenting and pregnant youth, and LGBTQIA+-identified youth.

JOB SUMMARY >

Clinician will provide client outreach and engagement, crisis intervention, individual and group short term and long-term therapy services for Real Alternative housing youth ages 18-24 years old. The clinician will coordinate with housing case managers, community counseling therapist, county and community partners to assist youth in transitions to independence. The clinician will offer support to all RA youth in some capacity with an ongoing clinician caseload of 15-25 youth.

The full-time position exempt position may require work weeks to exceed more than 40 hours as well as evening and weekend work. SERVICE DELIVERY AND CLIENT OUTCOMES
  • Obtain and complete necessary clinical records and documents, including progress notes, clinical assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, within assigned time frames, and perform Medi-Cal administrative activities.
  • The service delivery target is at least 18 hours per week. Subject to change for this role
Client Support
  • Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities to provide weekly community-based individual therapy and clinical case management services to a caseload of 15 to 25 youth.
  • Effectively build therapeutic rapport with youth and partner with youth in identifying and working on short and long-term mental health and independent living skills goals.
