Industrial Maintenance Supervisor

Overview

Industrial Maintenance Supervisor role at Mission Foods. This position supervises leads and mechanics in daily activities and is responsible for repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance on production equipment to ensure operability. Electrical and mechanical expertise are used to troubleshoot, repair, install, and perform preventive and interactive maintenance on production equipment and accessories.

• Develop, implement and follow-up plans to accomplish departmental goals and objectives.
• Perform safety and sanitation audits and participate as an active member of the safety, quality and food safety committees.
• Conduct training sessions for department employees as needed.
• Monitor and ensure the work order system operates effectively (address safety, food safety and other operational work orders promptly).
• Ensure equipment performs in a safety manner and complies with OSHA regulations.
• Keep employees informed on factors relating to their work assignment, progress, and opportunities for advancement.
• Maintain and improve the preventive maintenance program and ensure the scheduled preventive maintenance is followed.
• Ensure plant equipment is properly maintained by manufacturer recommendations and the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Modify and/or suggest modifications to equipment to improve performance, safety, or food safety operation (with management approval).
• Train mechanics and production personnel in troubleshooting techniques and equipment operation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required. 3 years of experience in Maintenance in a manufacturing plant required. Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience (or 4 years as a lead) in a manufacturing environment required. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered.

• Ability to read electrical diagrams and possess strong electrical skills on power and control.
• Proficiency in electrical and PLC troubleshooting/programming.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal electric codes.
• Experience with regulatory inspectors: AIB, BRC, OSHA, Military, Health Department, EPA, City & County Inspectors.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Team supervision/leadership/development/training skills.
• Multicultural approach to operating in a diverse environment; comfortable in an internationally matrixed environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Shift: 3rd

Salary Range: $89,000.00 - $91,000.00 plus $3k annual Bonus

Location: Hayward, CA
