Advanced Welder Job Description

As an Advanced Welder, you will need to be able to read and understand shop drawings, plan fabrication and fabricate welded components per the shop drawing. The shop is equipped with a wide range of tools, drills, cold saws, bandsaws, grinders, tapping arms, laser, press brake, overhead crane, forklift, etc.

We are looking for a fabricator with the following skills:

Advanced MIG(75%) & TIG (25%)

Expert at interpreting shop drawings to make parts and develop a work plan/sequence.

Perform accurate layout of plates, holes, bends, etc.

Skilled in the use of layout tools like scribes, squares, tapes, protractors, levels, etc.

A Fabricator needs to be able to meet Hester’s welding standards, and must know how to set up the machine, diagnose problems, and make high quality welds.

As a Fabricator you will need to be humble and ready to learn every day. Our shop produces and utilizes new techniques to produce unique parts every day.

Estimate fabrication durations and consistently meet goals

Plan and sequence work with the shop manager
