Hours & Pay- Schedule: Day Shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
- Pay Rate: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
- Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time (40 hours/week)
The Lead Laser Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Amada, Mazak, and Mitsubishi laser machines to produce high-quality parts on schedule. This role requires technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple machines running concurrent jobs. You'll own the quality of your work while supporting overall shop success through collaboration and process adherence.
Daily Tasks & Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and monitor Amada, Mazak, and Mitsubishi laser machines safely and efficiently
- Run multiple laser jobs concurrently, balancing long and short production runs
- Verify CNC programs and ensure setups align with job requirements
- Follow setup sheets and assist with updating or creating new documentation as needed
- Inspect parts using calipers, height gages, and other measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain accurate job tracking within the ERP system
- Take full ownership of part quality and on-time completion
- Support other departments as needed to keep production moving smoothly
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Laser Operator
- Ability to independently operate at least one type of laser system (Amada, Mazak, or Mitsubishi)
- Strong blueprint and drawing interpretation skills
- Proficiency using inspection equipment such as calipers and height gages
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds repeatedly
- NC punch and/or waterjet experience strongly preferred
- Ability to alternate between standing and sitting throughout the shift
