RATE RANGE: $26 - $36.99/hr
TOP 3SKILLS:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Torque Technician is a critical technical role responsible for the configuration, installation, validation, and troubleshooting of torque-controlled tools and fastened joint systems across
*** manufacturing and assembly operations. This position ensures fastening processes meet defined engineering specifications, torque–angle requirements, joint integrity criteria, and quality control standards. The role directly supports functional safety, product performance, traceability, and compliance with internal manufacturing standards and external regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper care and calibration status of torque tools and fastening equipment
- Perform in-process and final inspections of fastened joints for quality and compliance (residual torque check, torque tool periodic inspection).
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Vehicle Engineering to support joint testing, validation and installation trials.
- Proactively detect and address fastening issues, including cross-threading, under/over-torque, galling, or joint loosening.
- Accurately document fastening data, inspection results, and nonconformances in manufacturing and quality systems.
- Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions related to fastener or joint failures.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to continuously improve fastening processes and standards.
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, assembly, or mechanical fastening
- Knowledge of bolted joints and fastener basics
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, torque specifications, and basic engineering drawings
- Experience using manual and powered torque tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Associate's Degree or technical certification in a related field.
- Experience with Atlas Copko torque tools and systems.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and non-conformance reporting.
- Experience in the electric vehicle or autonomous vehicle industry.
- Proficiency with common computer applications (e.g., Google Workspace) for documentation and reporting.

Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate or annual salary only, unless otherwise stated.
