Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 1050)

Game Stop is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. The role focuses on delivering outstanding guest service, driving sales, and maintaining a safe and organized retail environment.

• Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests, handle questions and concerns, promote promotions, and thank guests for shopping.
• Support the visual and operational aspects of the store, including merchandising, promotional displays, and cleanliness.
• Process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately using the POS system and ensure receipts and guest satisfaction.
• Answer phone calls professionally and, when necessary, forward customer issues to the Store Manager.
• Promote Game Stop’s guest‑benefit programs such as the reservation program, trade‑in program, and Pro Rewards.
• Train and coach store associates on policies, procedures, and customer‑service expectations.
• Provide performance feedback, conduct evaluations, and maintain required training records in Workday/HR systems.
• Schedule store associates, ensuring compliance with labor guidelines and that all break and meal periods are recorded.
• Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and ensure associates are compensated accurately.
• Maintain store cleanliness, product organization, and equipment functionality.
• Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders daily.
• Apply inventory control, loss prevention, and bank deposit procedures.
• Meet or exceed sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties.
• Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure accurate product placement.
• Reconcile daily business transactions and bank deposits.
• Record shipment discrepancies, conduct defect/recall processing, and communicate with larger management.
• Ensure guest and associate safety and report injuries per policy.
• Maintain store records/files in an organized manner.
• Delegate sales associate and keyholder duties when the Store Manager is absent.
• Follow all Game Stop policies, procedures, and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
• Follow opening and closing procedures.

• Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Age 18 or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months retail management experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years retail sales, guest service or management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of video games is preferred.

• Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to work fast‑paced, adapt to change, and manage pressure.
• Team orientation with independent initiative.
• Experience operating POS systems and performing basic mathematics.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliable judgment.
• Physical ability to stand and move up to 12 hours, lift up to 30 lbs, perform basic fine and gross motor tasks.
• Optional: understanding of military ranks for store locations on U.S. bases.

Pay: $20.54 – $24.54 per hour.
