Position: Endoscopy Practitioner (Bank)

Staff Nurse/ODP – Endoscopy (Bank)

Haywards Heath Hospital | Nursing | Bank | Part time – Up to £26.00 per hour depending on experience

Main duties of the job
  • Support and assist Consultants during a range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
  • Deliver high‑quality peri‑operative care within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
  • Work across varied caseloads using state‑of‑the‑art endoscopy equipment and scopes.
  • Undertake pre‑operative assessments where required.
  • Act as a role model by supporting, supervising and developing junior team members.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure seamless teamwork and coordination across departments.
  • Deliver care that is clinically effective, evidence‑based and truly patient‑centred.
  • Ensure continuity of care by collaborating with ward colleagues and other clinical departments.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, welcoming and high‑performing clinical environment.

Nuffield Health Haywards Heath Hospital opened in 1993 and is close to the centre of Haywards Heath. The hospital offers a wide range of medical services, from minor procedures to major surgical specialties, with three theatres, comprehensive outpatient facilities and 26 en‑suite beds. Our team delivers consistently high standards of patient care throughout the entire patient journey.

About you – Core requirements
  • Registered with the NMC (Registered Nurse) or HCPC (Operating Department Practitioner).
  • Experienced in endoscopy within a post‑registration role.
  • Flexible, motivated and able to work autonomously.
  • A strong communicator with excellent teamwork skills.
  • Detail‑oriented, calm under pressure and passionate about patient‑centred care.
Person specification – Additional qualifications and experience
  • Clinical expertise, professionalism and a compassionate approach that upholds the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Registration with the appropriate governing body (NMC or HCPC) and relevant post‑registration experience, ideally within an endoscopy setting.
