American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown/PCU unit position requiring 2+ years of current experience and KY or compact licensure.

• 34-bed Stepdown/PCU unit setting
• 1:5 patient ratios
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Day shift schedule rotating between 3x12 and 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

• Active KY or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• AVADE Level I & II certification preferred
• 2+ years of current Stepdown/PCU experience required
• 3-6 months of Level IV Trauma or above experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience managing cardiac drips (titration preferred)
• Skills in central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with post-TPA care, CVA, and neurological conditions
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions
• Valid driver's license matching permanent address required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one Charge or higher and one supervisor, both completed within the last year
• Copy of certifications required for consideration
• SSN, DOB, and middle name confirmation required for consideration

• Provide nursing care to patients with cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and renal conditions in a Stepdown/PCU setting
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case
• Orientation is conducted bi-weekly
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered and must be requested upfront with no changes accepted afterward
• Required to work either a major or minor shift on every holiday
• Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after working one year before becoming eligible to return
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on relevant Level IV or higher experience
• Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
