American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN with 2+ years of PCU/Stepdown experience and KY or compact RN licensure for a 13-week day shift assignment.

• Work in the 3 South Stepdown unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4/5
• Day shift schedule alternating 3x12 and 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30) for 84 hours per two-week pay period
• Float required within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• Meditech charting system preferred

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience required
• Flu vaccine required; declinations not accepted, though medical and religious exemptions may be approved case-by-case
• Valid driver's license required with address matching permanent address
• Two professional references required within the last year: one Charge or higher and one supervisor
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

• Provide patient care for a neurological, cardiac, and respiratory stepdown population including CVA, TBI, post-cardiac cath, and dysrhythmia monitoring
• Skills in central line care, PICC line management, cardiac drip management, and wound care preferred
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered, must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted
• Must work either a major or minor holiday
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
• Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
• Previous travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after one year of employment before returning
