Security Officer - Armed Patrol

This role is a Security Officer - Armed Patrol, located in Hyden, KY.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.06 / Hour

Job Schedule: Daytime 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM (Mon-Fri)

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner while maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the assigned government location and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized activities.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other critical areas to help deter and report suspicious behavior or security-related concerns.
• Interact with visitors, employees, and contractors in a courteous and professional manner, providing assistance as needed.
• Complete detailed and accurate reports of patrols, incidents, and any observed irregularities.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency personnel when required during incidents or emergencies.
• Maintain a visible presence to help deter potential security-related threats within the government environment.

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
