The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for monitoring incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of products and materials. This position involves verifying shipment contents, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with carriers and internal departments.

• Compare identifying information and counts, weigh or measure items in outgoing or incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, packing slips, address labels, and other records.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Route incoming items to correct departments.
• Package items in appropriate containers and affix labels and shipping instructions onto containers.
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operate equipment to move, convey, or hoist shipments between shipping/receiving area and storage or work areas.
• Coordinate with carriers to schedule pick-ups and deliveries.
• Ensure timely dispatch of all outgoing shipments.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic math and computer skills.

• High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.

• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a warehouse environment preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures and equipment is a plus.
