Nurse Educator – Periop (Full‑time, Day Shift)

Providence Health & Services invites qualified nurses to join the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital nursing team as a full‑time, day‑shift Nurse Educator – Periop. This role focuses on teaching evidence‑based nursing practices to bedside nurses and driving clinical excellence in peri‑operative care.

• Design, develop, and deliver educational content for peri‑operative nursing staff.
• Mentor bedside nurses in the application of program knowledge and best practices.
• Leverage simulation, case‑based learning, and competency‑validation strategies to reinforce clinical skills.
• Measure and analyze educational outcomes to improve teaching effectiveness.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership to align training with hospital goals and standards.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field – or equivalent experience.
• California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Nursing Professional Development Board Certification or Nursing Education credential within two years of hire.
• Minimum of 3 years acute‑care nursing experience.
• Minimum of 1 year staff‑development activities.
• Experience with simulation in healthcare.
• Experience with interactive, case‑based online teaching/learning methods.
• Experience with competency‑based knowledge and skills validation.
• Experience evaluating outcomes to assess educational effectiveness.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related professional development field.
• Additional specialty certification relevant to peri‑operative practice upon hire.
• Three years experience in peri‑operative or related specialty area.
• Strong preference for candidates with peri‑operative experience.
