Overview
A couple with a vacation home in Healdsburg, CA, is seeking a pet care/house manager to reside on the property in a guest house, year round and care for their dogs while the clients are not in residence. This position is ideal for someone who is a homebody, or works remotely and is looking for a peaceful and quite environment. On average, the clients visit the property 1-1.5 weeks each month.
There may be times when the clients are in residence and still need assistance or they are not in residence at all that month. Advance scheduling will be provided. While the housing is provided on a full-time basis, the responsibilities are pretty minimal with house care and errands and mostly focus on taking care of the two dogs on a daily basis.
The candidate should be comfortable spending majority of the time on property, as the clients prefer the dogs not be left for longer than 4-6 hours at a time. The position would start immediately on finding the right fit!
- Must be comfortable with two dogs
- Take dogs to vet appointments
- Running errands
- Light grocery shopping before principals arrive
- Airport pick-up and drop-off (There is a car available for work. The candidate should have their own vehicle for personal use.)
- Handle vendor management (Landscaper, pool cleaner, maintenance person and part-time housekeeper for main house)
- Packages and mail
- Standard house maintenance and oversight (outside cushions, furniture covers)
- There is a vegetable garden and fruit trees that would need looking after.
Note: The guest house is furnished, but the candidate is welcome to bring additional items if desired. NO pets are allowed. All utilities are covered by the principals.
Requirements- Must be legal to work in the US
- Clean and valid driver's license
- Comfortable living independently in an isolated area
- Independent and proactive worker
The couple is offering $50,000 salary plus housing and utilities included.
Additional benefits- 30 days off a year and flexible for additional time if discussed in advance
