$17.00/hr - $17.00/hr

What You’ll Be Doing In This Role...

Under the general direction of the General manager and in conjunction with the Single Thread Team, the Captain works to successfully curate and execute guest experiences in our Dining Room. This is achieved through a genuine and intentional sense of hospitality while controlling the pace of service by being in tune with the guest’s needs and your team’s dynamics.

Guest‑Facing Service Management
  • Provide warm, humble and knowledgeable service throughout the property
  • Communicate with the Maitre’d or Restaurant Manager about any details that aid in the guest experience and assist with execution
  • Take responsibility for guest financials at the end of the experience (closing accurate amounts to Tock as needed, applying gift cards correctly, running cards on the correct tables and being equipped to answer basic financial questions)
  • Control the flow of service by being in tune with the guest’s needs and your team’s dynamics
  • Bring any guest issues and proposed solutions to the attention of a manager on duty to ensure the proper resolution and tracking
  • Review all pertinent guest information in Tock prior to service and add new notes in the required format prior to clocking out each shift
Employee Relations
  • Assist in creating and upholding a work culture that encourages growth in a healthy and supportive environment
  • Take time to mentor those that come after you
  • Invest in your team’s success by following up after any successful or challenging services
  • Remain calm, collected and in control of your station in high‑tension situations
General/Miscellaneous
  • Ensure a Kaizen mentality in quality of guest experience, service, operational effectiveness, employee retention, and satisfaction
  • Ensure consistent, thorough, and timely communication to peers, managers, guests, and vendors
  • Continually strive to provide opportunities to advance the education and development of staff as it relates to food, wine, and service
  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations/ordinances that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the farm/restaurant/inn, its employees, and its guests
  • All other duties as assigned by manager
In an Ideal World, You Have:
  • 3+ years of related food, beverage and/or service management experience in a fine dining atmosphere (preferred)
  • Commitment to quality, excellence, and genuine hospitality
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and flexible, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to listen, communicate, and build connections
  • Relevant experience in high‑end hospitality/restaurant operations
  • Excellent computer competency (e.g. well‑versed in PC and/or Mac‑based MS Office, POS and PMS, Open Table, Tock, or similar booking program)
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • A person of integrity; fair and consistent
  • Creative problem‑solving and critical decision‑making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization
  • Extensive knowledge of Sonoma County and its surrounding areas including its history, wineries, dining options, retail shopping
  • Ability to work a varying schedule, including overtime, nights, weekends and holidays, and the ability to work 5 shifts per week
