Job Description

Packaging Specifications Technologist

We have a new role at Valeo Foods for a Packaging Specifications Technologist
. The role will ideally be based at Matthew Walker site in Heanor.

Working collaboratively and partnering across the business to deliver accurate specifications and assist artwork coordination and packaging specification management and address customer queries and requests for information, you will:

  • Collaborate with NPD, marketing, and suppliers to ensure packaging aligns with product and brand requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise on packaging material specifications.
  • Approve and maintain packaging specifications
  • Troubleshoot packaging issues on production lines and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure packaging meets food safety regulations, legal labelling requirements, and environmental standards.
  • Liaise with packaging suppliers to source materials and manage specifications.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate packaging specifications and artwork approvals.
  • Support audits and customer documentation requests relating to packaging specifications.
  • Circulate and manage the artwork approval process.
Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in packaging development, ideally within FMCG or food/confectionery.
  • Familiarity with packaging materials and artwork processes.
  • Basic understanding of packaging legislation and sustainability considerations.
  • Good computer literacy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
