Job Description:

Mancan is seeking dependable Field Laborers / Fire Watch personnel for an industrial construction company in the Heath area. This position involves monitoring work areas for fire hazards, maintaining a safe working environment, and assisting construction crews with daily operations. This is a great opportunity for individuals with general construction experience who are safety-conscious and willing to learn.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor work areas for potential fire hazards during welding and cutting operations

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

• Know the location of fire extinguishers and how to properly operate them

• Follow job site safety procedures and emergency protocols

• Assist lead workers by gathering tools, materials, and supplies

• Identify and report potential safety hazards

• Assist with general construction duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous general construction experience preferred

• Knowledge of steel construction, welding, or cutting operations is a plus

• Must be able to lift and operate a fire extinguisher weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Must be dependable and safety-conscious

• Ability to follow instructions and work in an industrial construction environment

• Must provide appropriate work clothing and safety-toe boots

• Hard hats, safety glasses, and additional PPE will be provided

• Job-specific safety training will be provided

Additional Information:
At this time, this is a project-based position expected to last through December 2026, although the project timeline may change at any time. Depending on the employee's knowledge, performance, and ability to learn, there may be opportunities for longer-term employment.
Most work will take place in the Heath area, but job site locations may vary depending on available projects.
