ACH​/EFT Accounting Specialist

Hopewell Federal Credit Union has a great opportunity for an ACH/EFT and Share Draft Specialist in the Accounting Department at our Heath office - come join our team!

This full time position will take responsibility for daily, accurate, efficient, compliant oversight of the Credit Union's ACH, EFT, and Share Draft operations. Must demonstrate exceptional accountability, reliability, and judgement. Professionally communicate and interact daily with members and team members. Beyond maintaining daily operations, this role is expected to drive continuous improvement, safeguard the Credit Union and its members, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Nacha Operating rules, Regulatory E, and OFAC requirements and possess excellent interpersonal, telephone and written skills and have a knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office.

To assist the CFO in the daily operations of the Accounting Department. ACH Operations, Compliance/Regulatory Oversight, Share Draft Operations, Electronic Fund Transfer Services.

• Completes month-end processes.
• Assists staff to complete daily tasks necessary for the Credit Union's operations.
• Serve as the primary back up for the accounting positions when necessary.
• Understands all of the roles within the department and is able to perform basic duties.
• Responsible for providing assistance to auditors/examiners on year-end and comprehensive audits as needed.
• Acts as a resource to branch personnel regarding member discrepancies / issues
• Performs advanced accounting tasks as assigned
• Stays current with changes and industry trends as it pertain to job functions and duties
• Adheres to all rules and regulations set forth by management, vendors and supervisory agencies
• Performs other duties as assigned

• One year accounting and understanding of NACHA operating rules
  and banking compliance standards.
• Preferable:
  One year experience in ACH, Payables, Share Drafts, and Debit Cards.

High school graduate or equivalent. Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) designation or person with aspirations to obtain.

• A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, along with the ability to keep information to a need-to-know basis. Individual needs to be a self-starter, demonstrate initiative, team oriented, displays a positive attitude, strong customer service attitude, good interpersonal skills, strong researcher and problem-solver.

• Strong PC skills, experienced MS Office user (most importantly MS Word and Excel), Functional with spreadsheets and word processing software. Strong understanding of fundamentals of accounting and accounting procedures.
• Must be able to work up to 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday with one Saturday per month.
• Must have excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to establish and maintain a positive, professional image to credit union members and coworkers.
