Job Summary
Maintain safe manufacturing of quality coatings through addition of chemicals and pigments from a formula ticket. Working safely is part of our culture and is a condition of employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinate accurate operation of pump controls, gate valves and compactor.
- Possess thorough understanding of plumbing valves and pump controls in milling and filling operations to route product properly.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform quality control tests on all products including viscosity, draw down, temperature and WPG.
- Coordinate bailing of recycled super sacks in compactor.
- Open 55-gallon drums using pliers and wrench.
- Fill 5-6 gallon pails with liquids from semi-bulk totes.
- Use handheld scanner to record inventory movements.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, formula adjustments, and reports.
- Use computer-controlled automation systems for raw material delivery and milling equipment operations.
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Extensive milling experience.
- Thorough understanding of chemicals used in paint making, including functionality and hazards.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and applicable OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations.
- Ability to plan, organize, and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain professional relationships with all levels of management and vendors.
- Perform mathematical calculations including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Knowledge of measures of weight, volume, and conversion methods.
- Read and write in English.
- Computer skills.
- Operate a forklift.
