Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils, SEND teams, and schools throughout the UK. We are currently experiencing a high demand for one-to-one and small-group SEND Specialist Tutors who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Hebburn area
.

The Opportunity

  • Year 5 – Female
  • Hours – x3 per week (2x 1.5-hour sessions)
  • SEN Needs – ASD, Anxiety, sensory processing difficulties, Demand avoidant
  • Subjects – English and Maths
  • Requirements – QTS, SPLD or high level of experience working with both Autistic and demand avoidant students

We have received a referral for this student due to start in September, with 2 x 1.5-hour sessions per week initially, focusing on English and Maths, tuition alongside 30 minutes of work around executive functioning.

The student is working towards age related expectations, but her current level is significantly delayed right now across literacy and numeracy skills, although it is not clear that this is as a direct result of her thinking and reasoning abilities.

  • Location –
    Jarrow
  • Type of work – Contract
  • Setting – either within the student’s home or in the community (learning hub/library)
  • Duration – Until the pupil is able to find a suitable school placement
  • Contract type – Temporary
  • Full-time/part-time availability, ranging from 6-15hours p/w per student
  • Rate of pay – up to £30 per hour (negotiable)

Experience, Training and Qualifications of the SEND Specialist Tutor:

  • QTS or SPLD qualification
  • Possess UK classroom teaching experience
  • Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
  • Have experience working with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, GLD and challenging behaviours
  • Have experience working with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, GLD and challenging behaviours

To be eligible for this role, the potential SEND Specialist Tutor must:

  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred listDBScertificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment
