Northern Cancer Voices (NCV) is an award‑winning, patient‑led charity based in the North East, amplifying lived experience to influence cancer care, deliver peer support, and tackle health inequalities. Our work is growing, and we need a skilled Treasurer to help guide our financial strategy.

As Treasurer, you will play a critical role in sustaining and growing Northern Cancer Voices’ impact. Your financial oversight ensures that every pound is used effectively to support people affected by cancer. By guiding budgeting, compliance, and strategic planning, you help us deliver peer support, advocacy, and community programmes that reduce isolation and improve health outcomes. Your expertise will empower NCV to remain transparent, resilient, and ready to reach more underserved communities.

    • Solid understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
    • Ability to interpret financial statements and advise on sustainability.

    • Accuracy in reviewing figures and identifying risks.

  • Reliability and Availability
    • Consistent attendance at meetings and timely responses.
    • Willingness to dedicate approx. 4–6 hours per month.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial oversight and ensure compliance with charity regulations
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Advise on risk management and sustainability
  • Liaise with our finance administrator and CEO on cash flow and payroll
  • Contribute to strategic decisions as part of the Board
