Customer Service Representative – Part Time Patient Registration at R1 RCM

Shift HoursPRN – part time, work as needed. Shifts range between 8–12 hours.

Role OverviewAs a Customer Service Representative you’ll help patients check into the hospital. It’s fast-paced at times, and you’ll be the person patients rely on to answer questions during registration. You’ll build trust by collecting information accurately and quickly, listening with compassion, and addressing fears, concerns and questions.
Responsibilities- Work across multiple screens to collect patient and insurance details, typing as quickly as patients can talk.
- Assist patients who may be very ill or worried, listening carefully to ease their anxiety and building rapport in real time.
- Work quickly and expect the unexpected in a fast‑paced environment, helping patients complete registration while collecting variable health‑plan information.
- Collaborate with clinicians who may interrupt registration for emergent clinical care, maintaining efficient workflow.
- Demonstrate confidence as a multi‑tasker, a quick study of technology, typing accuracy, and phone answer skills.
- Ready to see illness and injuries in a hospital/lab environment, and prepared for vaccinations, drug testing and background checks prior to hire.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Excellent customer service experience.
- Up to date on all vaccinations, pass a drug test and pass a background check prior to hire.
