Administrative Officer – Montana Highway Patrol
Job Overview
The Administrative Officer provides professional administrative services and resource allocation, including budgeting, fiscal management, and other duties that support ongoing Division operations and activities. The Administrative Officer will supervise 2 FTE and will be a key member of the management team. The position will be based in either Helena or Boulder, with regular time spent between both locations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- Five years of experience in agency services or related field.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as an office manager, budget or fiscal manager in a law enforcement environment.
- Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to make decisions based on costs and benefits.
- Ability to resolve operational issues, elevate matters, recommend solutions, and implement division changes.
- Discretion and judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Knowledge of business management principles, basic accounting principles, operational and program budgeting, customer service standards, effective business communication, and inventory control.
