At Helena Public Schools, our vision is to foster dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life. As a temporary Guest English Teacher, you will work as part of a dynamic team that serves our high school students s position is anticipated to serve a temporary teaching contract from January 27, 2026 to June 2026 and scheduled for 7 hours a day.
Starting base daily rate is a prorated amount based off of the teacher salary matrix, $47,940–$65,338 based on education and experience in addition to a competitive pro‑rated benefit plan including but not limited to sick and personal leave, health benefit plan with options for dental and vision coverage, life insurance, a Section 125 plan, numerous tax‑sheltered annuity options and tuition reimbursement.

- Teach district approved curriculum.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional material.
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
- Prior to employment, you must successfully complete the appropriate background check required for employment.
- This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the Helena School District and Helena Education Association.
- Must have a Montana teaching certificate with the appropriate endorsement.
- Must have a master’s degree to teach dual credit classes.
- The ideal candidate will possess at least a year of successful teaching experience in English at the high school level.
