Establish effective rapport with students.

Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.

May conduct home visits.

This recruitment may also be used to fill additional positions per business needs.

This position serves a 187 day contract.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the Helena School District and Helena Education Association.

Prior to employment, you must successfully complete the appropriate background check required for employment.

Kinder Sprouts Early Literacy Teacher

At Helena Public Schools, our vision is to foster dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life.

The Kinder Sproutsprogram is designed to assist qualifying four-year (4) olds in developing early literacy skills through instruction and play. Current opening is at Kessler Elementary.

Some of what you will do:

• Cultivate cognitive growth, social skills and curiosity through play, meaningful work and caring relationships.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional material based on district approved curriculum.
• Provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.

Who we are looking for:
To become part of this dedicated team, you have a Montana teaching certificate with elementary or early childhood endorsement area.
The ideal candidate will possess at least a year of successful teaching experience in an elementary classroom and have multiple areas of endorsement. Preference will be given to candidates with preschool experience.
