Lewis and Clark County Criminal Justice Services Department is recruiting for a Court Services and Diversion Assistant. Under supervision of the Criminal Justice Services Department Director, this position performs a wide range of administrative, clerical, and program coordination duties.

The Criminal Justice Department works collaboratively with:
- Lewis and Clark County District Court;
- Lewis and Clark County Justice Court;
- Helena Municipal Court;
- State of Montana City Court, East Helena Municipality;
- Helena Police Department;
- Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office;
- Lewis and Clark County Attorney’s Office;
- Lewis and Clark County Youth Probation Office;
- Department of Corrections Adult Probation and Parole Bureau;
- Office of the Public Defender, Region IV.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are typically acquired through the combinations of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in a criminal justice, social services, administrative support, or related environment. Must have a valid Montana driver’s license. Associate degree in Criminal Justice, social work, sociology, Psychology, Criminology, or a related field preferred.
Experience working in courts, law enforcement, legal services, or behavioral health preferred. Experience working with sensitive or confidential information preferred.
The following are required to be obtained during the duration of employment:
- National Association of Pretrial Services Agencies (NAPSA) Certified Pretrial Services Professional (CPSP) standing, or within three (3) months of the date of hire;
- Certified in Crisis Intervention Training, or within eighteen (18) months of date of hire;
- Certified in Mental Health first Aid through the State of Montana’s eight (8) hour course within twelve (12) months of the date of hire;
Certified in CPR, within six (6) months of date of hire.
