Join our outpatient care team! As a Medical Assistant, you’ll work closely with providers to deliver high‑quality patient care through rooming patients, taking vitals, administering tests and immunizations, assisting with procedures, and managing follow‑up tasks like calls, refills, and result reporting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides high‑quality clinical and administrative support in a fast‑paced ambulatory clinic setting. This role is responsible for patient intake, vital signs, clinical documentation, diagnostic testing, medication administration, and assisting providers during exams and procedures. The CMA serves as a key liaison between patients and the care team, ensuring timely, compassionate, and coordinated care while maintaining accurate electronic health records.
EDUCATION:New hires receive a comprehensive orientation and 4–6 weeks of hands‑on preceptorship.
No MA certification? No problem—St. Peter’s offers an internal training program that prepares you for certification through classroom and on‑the‑job instruction.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY:Current National Certified Medical Assistant designation required within 6 months of employment, valid and current Basic Life Support certification and re‑certification every two years.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
1 year of healthcare experience preferred.
Aptitudes:Demonstrated ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Ability to conduct self professionally, including but not limited to: interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non‑judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Demonstrated ability to accept feedback and adapt to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.
