Central Sterile Processing Technician – Full-Time
Helena, MT
Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Position Overview:
The Central Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role is essential to patient safety and supports surgical and clinical teams by ensuring all instruments meet infection prevention and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and endoscopes
Follow established infection control and sterilization procedures
Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and integrity
Maintain accurate documentation and basic computer records
Work collaboratively with surgical and clinical teams in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
Knowledge of sterilization techniques and medical equipment preferred
Familiarity with medical terminology a plus
Ability to follow detailed procedures and work under pressure
Strong attention to detail and professional communication skills
Education & Certification:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Central Sterile certification preferred or eligible within 18 months of hire
