Union Position – ELM Utility Services, with a team of over 1,300 employees nationwide, is offering a great opportunity for a Utility Locate Technician in the Helena, Montana area. ELM Technicians are essential in their communities, ensuring that gas, electric, and communication systems are dependable and well-maintained. They perform high‑quality utility marking to avoid damage during excavation of these vital facilities.

• Work independently outdoors, using the company‑provided vehicle as a mobile office, and complete a route of locate requests each day.
• Accurately, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and sometimes whiskers.
• Use your mobile work system to receive daily tasks.

• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug, Motor Vehicle Record, and background check.
• Must comply with all Federal Department of Transportation regulations (Safety‑Sensitive DOT position). Use of marijuana (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
• High School Diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
