The Role
Fitness Center Coordinator - Helena, MT is a part-time role (15 hours/week) that supports our client site. This position offers the chance to gain leadership skills within the corporate fitness industry while working a manageable schedule.
Schedule:
Tu-Th, 5 hours per day between 5:30a-5:30p.
Responsible for the development, planning, coordination, marketing, and implementation of designated health and fitness programs and events to maximize participation and engagement. Manages program delivery, ensures staff are properly trained, monitors quality, and reports on program outcomes. May also instruct group exercise classes, provide personal training, conduct fitness tests, prescribe exercises, orient participants, and oversee fitness floor and facility coverage.
Key Accountabilities- Oversee all programming within designated areas; develop, coordinate, manage, implement, and evaluate health and fitness programs to maximize participation, outcomes, and customer satisfaction, and supervise programs, services, and staff.
- Align programs with the client’s business needs, employee culture, and corporate health strategies; coordinate marketing to maximize outreach and engagement; develop and distribute electronic and print promotional materials to communicate program offerings and special events.
- Gather program outcomes data, measure results, evaluate and report on program effectiveness, and recommend future enhancements or modifications.
- Research health and fitness educational topics within specified areas and identify appropriate participant educational materials.
- Participate in business planning and budgeting relating to program and service offerings in area of expertise.
- Provide individual and group exercise instruction; educate participants on proper techniques to maximize safety and effectiveness.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology, or related discipline and 1+ year related experience or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
- Current Adult First Aid and CPR/AED certification through the American Heart Association, American Safety & Health Institute, National Safety Council, or American Red Cross (certification must have an in-person component and not 100% online/OSHA compliant), required prior to start date.
- NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification from an industry‑recognized and Health Fitness‑approved agency required within 60‑90 days of hire.
- Industry‑recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT, or NETA required within 60‑90 days of hire.
- Experience in leading, coordinating, and delivering effective programs including budgeting, marketing, and promotions.
- Organize and prioritize work demands effectively.
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills, including the ability to motivate others.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.
Compensation: $21 - $27 per hour. Pay depends on experience and qualifications. Additional commission opportunities are available for candidates with a Health Fitness‑approved Personal Trainer certification.
