Electromechanical Field Engineer - Graduate / Entry Level – Helensburgh
We are looking for an Electromechanical Field Engineer to join our team at Graduate / Entry Level. This role benefits from a 9/75 working pattern with every other Friday off. The successful candidate will receive extensive specialist training and career development. Training will be provided at a Royal Navy Base in Faslane, Helensburg, with short periods in other areas of the United Kingdom.
Skills developed through specialist training will enable you to:
- Work as a fully integrated member of the Waterfront Team; performing preventative and corrective maintenance, and test procedures, on board a submarine and in shore facilities.
- Possibly perform contractor sea trials, requiring short periods away on board the platform while at sea.
- Develop to deliver technical training and provide technical consultancy, with detailed reports to support management, the Ministry of Defence, and other stakeholders to meet customer needs.
- Assist the Waterfront Associate Manager and team in producing presentations and technical reports for customer and stakeholder meetings.
- Fulfil a predominantly hands-on engineering role, with potential travel within the UK and to the US for meetings, training, and engineering support.
- Carry out tasks for ongoing compliance of lifting equipment under LOLER.
- Conduct forklift driving courses to assist with movement of relevant material.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or related subject with an electromechanical bias, or a minimum of a HNC with hands-on electromechanical experience
- A practical, structured approach to problem solving and proactive solution delivery
- Ability to own tasks and drive them to successful completion under deadlines
- Strong teamwork, with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to adhere to documentation in a highly prescriptive environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
