37.5 hours per week predominantly on site with a 4‑day work week option.
Role OverviewThis Project Finance & Controls Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to join a high‑profile programme within a dynamic and fast‑paced environment, supporting the delivery of complex and strategically important projects. The position provides broad exposure across programme finance, operational controls, customer engagement, and performance management, working alongside Finance, PMO, and Programme teams. Key responsibilities include finance business operational control within a new programme and interface with the customer to manage billing activities, CDRLs, KPIs, proposals, amendments, and wider programme financial controls.
Responsibilities- Manage programme billing activities and support accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Support customer change management activities, including pricing analysis and proposal support.
- Manage and maintain the Customer Finance Model (CFM).
- Support Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting and programme performance analysis.
- Monitor and track programme KPIs and financial metrics.
- Support forecasting and financial planning activities across the programme lifecycle.
- Track programme rates and support financial variance analysis.
- Support hedging activities and associated financial controls.
- Work collaboratively with PMO, Finance, and Programme teams to support operational and commercial objectives.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills.
- Advanced MS Office capability, particularly within Excel.
- Experience in financial control, forecasting, and performance reporting within complex programme environments.
- Contract and sub‑contract management experience.
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience in project cost control and programme performance reporting.
- Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively across cross‑functional and custom environments.
- Defence and space industry experience.
- Experience working directly with customers and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of standard costing methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (or equivalent combined education) with 10 years of professional experience, or 8 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
