Children's Occupational Therapy Team Lead | Band 7

NHS Highland | Full Time – 36 hours per week | Base:
Negotiable within Argyll and Bute | Clinical Caseload:
Helensburgh

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who is ready to lead, works well collaboratively, and is motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference within a rural community setting.

Our Children and Young People's OT service in Argyll and Bute is a friendly, well-connected team with strong partnerships across education, health and social care.

We are committed to delivering high quality, joined-up care for children and families, and we are looking for a Team Lead who brings both clinical expertise and leadership skills to bring people with them.

The post carries a community caseload in Helensburgh, working with children and young people from birth to 18 years across a range of developmental, neurological and neurodevelopmental presentations.

Alongside your caseload, you will lead the team's evidence-based practice, drive forward service improvement, and play an active role in shaping how the service develops.

You will professionally support two advanced practice posts leading on Neurodevelopmental and Children’s mental health and well-being pathways.

Working effectively in a rural and geographically dispersed setting requires someone who is resourceful, solution-focused, and skilled at building cohesive team relationships both in person and virtually.

What We Offer
  • We are committed to supporting the professional development of our staff.
  • This post includes access to regular professional supervision, membership of the Remote and Rural Children's OT Network, and membership of the National Children's OT Leads Network.
  • We actively support CPD and personal development and will work with the successful candidate to identify opportunities that benefit both the individual and the service.
Requirements
  • HCPC registration and a degree in Occupational Therapy are essential, along with significant post-graduate experience in children and young people's services and demonstrable experience of supervising or managing a team.
  • This post requires PVG Scheme membership for working with children.
  • A full UK driving licence, and the ability to travel across the locality, is essential due to the rural nature of the service.
