Role

At Babcock, you’ll support critical defence infrastructure by maintaining and operating electrical systems and specialist equipment. The role is hands‑on and contributes to operational readiness and national security.

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
• Complete defect diagnosis, repairs and fault‑finding to maintain operational performance
• Operate EHJ systems and equipment in line with approved procedures
• Support facility control room watch‑keeping and associated operational duties
• Follow safe systems of work and contribute to continuous improvement of processes and safety

This is a full‑time role based on site at HMNB Clyde, typically work 37 hours per week.

• Experience working with electrical systems and industrial equipment maintenance
• Interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Applying safe systems of work, including risk assessments and COSHH processes
• Understanding maintenance procedures and documentation
• Operating within highly regulated or safety‑critical environments

• Recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent (essential)
• Asbestos Awareness, Confined Spaces, Working at Height (preferred)
• Emergency First Aid certification (preferred)
  Relevant skilled person status or technical training (advantageous)

The successful candidate must be a UK national able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
